What Inspires You...

What inspires you?  I've found inspiration for craft projects from all sorts of areas. The latest is from our duvet cover!

Using the same gorgeous colours and the bright pink bird and butterflies I've recreated the design in a card.

I've used Melon Mambo, Soft Sky and Whisper White as the three base colours. Here's how to make the card:

Cut a pieces of A4 Whisper White card stock in half and fold it.

Cut a piece of Melon Mambo 1/4" smaller both lengthwise and widthwise than the size of the folded card and then a piece of Soft Sky 1/4" smaller both lengthwise and widthwise than the Melon Mambo.  Lastly cut a piece of Whisper White 1/4" smaller to fit evenly on top of the coloured layers.

Using Soft Sky Classic Ink and the swirl from the Everything Eleanor stamp set randomly stamp across the Whisper White cardstock.  Next do the same with the Smoky Slate Classic Ink.  Finally, using the flower form the Everything Eleanor stamp set stamp in Melon Mambo Classic Ink.

You can emblellish the card however you wish.  I used the Melon Mambo card to punch out a bird using the Bird Punch, cutting his wing from the Soft Sky card to add contrast.  I sponged the pieces of the bird with the opposite colour to make then stand out and to add interest.

I also stamped butterflies using the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set, cutting them out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch and the Bitty Butterfly Punch.

I attached the butterflies using rolled Mini Glue Dots and the bird with Stampin' Dimensionals to give the card added dimension.

Finally I finished the whole card with a few Basic Pearls to accentuate the bird's eye and to add more texture.

Voila!  The card is all done.  Now all you have to do is stamp a Whisper White Envelope to match the background of your card and you have made a beautiful, one of a kind card.
